You've been lied to, a lot.
There's been a lot of chatter about learning to write code, becoming a crack shot entrepreneur, and ascending to the heights of fame with little to no effort.
That's the furthest thing from the truth.
The truth is that being an entrepreneur, building a business, and specifically a software business is incredibly difficult. It requires a palette of skills that few have the willingness to develop or access to the people who already have them. It also requires an immense amount of sacrifice: time, money, and effort not just to get a product to market but to evolve it and find market fit.
That movie about Mark Zuckerberg hacking away in his dorm room, becoming a billionaire in just a few short years wasn't entirely fabricated, but it underplayed the experience he'd developed to execute on his idea before he even had it. In order for you to have a chance at doing the same, you need to develop your own skills.
You also need to adjust your expectations. It's easy to get excited and rush into building your million dollar idea, only to get smacked across the face by reality. It's not pleasant and it can lead some folks down a difficult path, making decisions that threaten their mental and financial stability.
The alternative is to start by adjusting your mindset. Accepting that there's nothing wrong with being excited and motivated as long as you understand the road ahead. That you're not careless about the pursuit of your idea, but considerate—putting an emphasis on patience and a willingness to roll with the punches.
Developing that mindset is difficult, especially when everything around us speaks to insta-fame and "hacks" to getting what you want without giving much. When the truth sinks in that these things fail to get us what we want, we get discouraged, retreating to the safety of mediocrity.
There's a better way. One that can get you exactly what you want.
Over the course of seven days, I'll teach you exactly what you need to understand to get started building your software product. I won't lie to you and I won't underplay the work you'll have to do. Instead, I'll give you the truth, and help you to set realistic expectations.
There's no magic. No secret. There's nothing hiding behind the form below but the cold hard truth. If you're willing to kill your ego and do what's necessary to bring your idea to life, chances are you'll get there.
